The 26th International Conference on Magnetically Levitated Systems and Linear Drives (Maglev 2024) which begins on the evening of September 18, 2024, will take place in Europe again this year, i.e. in Malmoe, after the last one in China. It is organized by the Department of Strategic Sustainable Development (Systainability Transformation of Energy and Transport) which belongs to Faculty of Engineering at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona (Schweden).
GFM-eV will be represented at Maglev 2024 with posters, annual booklets and 3D image material. It is thus underlining its commitment to this pioneering technology over a sustained period of almost 25 years with lasting impressions. The theme is:
Some binocular views onto old and new maglev systems
A binocular view enables the creation of a three-dimensional image impression in the human brain, which also enables us humans to see spatially. A spatial image impression can also have a more formative effect than a flat two-dimensional (monocular) view.
The poster on display depicts a reversed railroad system pyramid, with a motivation to make greater use of future-oriented maglev technology. The poster presentation is accompanied by a 3D slide show on an autostereoscopic monitor (for which no 3D glasses are required).
The 3D videos show the Bögl transportation system, the SupraTrans test facility and the Transrapid TR09 maglev train in action.
The annual issues are only occasionally available in paper form. On the occasion of the conference, they will be made available in digital form as PDF files.
